There's lots going on at the church this Christmas! Our special community weekend, 'Out of the darkness... has come a great light' was attended by over 450 adults and children. This weekend, we have a carol service on Sunday 20th at 4:00 p.m. Our Christmas Day service starts at 10:00 a.m. for around an hour. Both events will be followed by free refreshments.
This year's Christmas event: 'Out of the darkness... has come a great light.'
Previous years
Elim Hope Church has put on a number of Christmas events. Here are a few you may remember.
2022: Narnia
In December 2022, as a church, we started a new venture: an immersive Christmas experience. It began with Narnia, where we decorated the church rooms to allow the story of the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe to be told. Walking through a wardrobe, visitors were transported to a white, winter wonderland. They met Mr. Tumnus in his cave, and then the Queen of Narnia, Jadis, on her sleigh. The main auditorium was also transformed, as craft activities, food and a visit to Father Christmas were offered. This free event was spread across two days and over 600 people came and enjoyed it.
2023: Star of Wonder
In December 2023, we took the nativity story and enabled people to walk through the pages of the Bible and be transported to the land of Bethlehem. Again, following the immersive model, people got to visit Mary, King Herod, the shepherds and the Wise Men. Crafts, food and Father Christmas graced all visitors who attended within the main auditorium. Over 550 people enjoyed the weekend.

2024: A Christmas Carol
In 2024, there was another free, immersive experience for all the family. We focused this experience on being very child-friendly. There was a puppet show, as well as other interactive activities. Father Chrismas was in his grotto and every child received a gift. There were also craft activities as well as free festive refreshments
